Description
Cotton, a Los Angeles fire horse pensioned after years of faithful service, is to be present to represent not only his brothers who sleep in Flanders Fields, but those who have braved hazards of peace, drawing clanging fire engines to scenes of danger. Officer Joe Sepulveda is shown holding Cotton's tether on November 15, 1927. He has been a fireman for 37 years in Los Angeles and drove Cotton in 1907 when the horse was four years old.
