Originally named Boulder Dam, it was renamed Hoover Dam in 1946. Shown here is a map which includes California, Baja, Arizona, Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada. Each area is marked with the number of irrigable acres. Arizona for instance is listed as 1,000,000 irrigable acres .
