Description
A cache of five weapons captured in March 1983, three rifles, a Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle, an M16 assault rifle, one shotgun, and one submachine gun, and an unidentified brown rifle lie on top of a U.S. flag. Below them sits a sign that reads, "Captured FRS armament with a U.S. flag." The Frente Revolucionario Sandino (FRS), or Sandino Revolutionary Front in English, is an organization founded by Edén Pastora Gómez in 1982, shortly after leaving Nicaragua and the FSLN for exile in Costa Rica in opposition to Nicaragua's Sandinista government.
