Group portrait of men and children in front of shops on Main Street in Downieville. Women are on the balcony of the building. Shops include (right to left) Henry Purdy's jewelry store, W.B. Kimball's drug store, James S. Wiggins' saloon, post office and Latrelle's shoe and clothing store. People (identified by Judge Spaulding) include one of the Collis brothers, Henry Purdy, Tirey L. Ford, Sheriff Fish, Judge Soward, James S. Wright, Louis Lutrelle, Mr. Owen and Dr. Jump. Description and names annotated on back of photo.
