Description
Photograph taken August, 1942, of the quality control laboratory at Bercut-Richards Packing Company. An unidentified man and woman wearing laboratory coats and peering into microscopes occupy a table beneath rows of beakers, cannisters, bottles and tins used in their work. The sign above the young man reads "Packed under continuous inspection of the Agricultural Marketing Service of the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture" while the smaller sign to the right indicates that anything bearing it's seal is "GRADE A (Fancy)", and officially certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
