John Engh and Martinius Borgen had their home in this area of houses when they started missionary work here in 1867. The Tatamarina Lake is in the background. -- John Engh was a missionary in Madagascar from 1865-1899. He married Johanne Mathilde 1843-1921, maiden name Abel, in Tananarive, Madagascar on September 7, 1867. -- Martinius Borgen was a missionary in Madagascar from 1867-1882 and in South Africa from 1885-1901. He married Martha Nikoline 1843-1918, maiden name Hirsch, on December 10, 1871 in Madagascar. She was a missionary in Madagascar from 1870-1872 and in South Africa from 1885-1918. She died in Mangiluè Zululand in 1918.
