Photograph caption dated February 8, 1960 reads, "William Wilde, left, Valley Times photographer, accepts top spot news award in 11th annual Associated Press California-Nevada photo contest from Robert Speidel, AP contest chairman. Wilde won high honor second consecutive year with his picture 'Giddap' which showed 15-year-old horse being lifted from Chatsworth water test hole. He won honorable mention in another category. Last year he placed first with photo 'Hell's Roar' and won honorable mention with another."
