Description
A letter from Kyutaro Ishii to Hiroji Hosaka incarcerated in the Heart Mountaion camp. The letter was written in the Poston camp where Kyutaro had been incarcerated. He described the camp: farms in Utah and Nebraska were recruiting laborers in the Poston camp and incarcerees were leaving the camp temporarily. His son left the camp to see the farm. Hiroji Hosaka Family Letters consists of correspondence between Hiroji Hosaka and his family and friends while he was imprisoned in the Santa Fe Detention Station, the Santa Anita Assembly Center, and the Heart Mountain incarceration camp during World War II. Also included are prewar photographs of the Daiichi Rafu Gakuen, that is, a Japanese language school in Los Angeles, and Japanese archery, a photograph of the Heart Mountain camp, and his business cards prior to the war.
