Description
Doll depicts a woman from the Montagnard groups in the Tay Nguyen or Western Highlands of Kon Tum province in Southern Vietnam. The doll wears a pink turban, a long black dress with detailed designs on the waist and hem, and long-sleeved jacket with wide sleeves and pink and yellow ribbons. She wears green and gold beads representing earrings, a large collar with gold trim, and a red cloth attached to her dress with silver thumb tacks adorns her chest. It is notable that the sleeves of the jacket are much wider than would be practical for daily life in the mountainous regions. Handwritten label attached to the back of her left sleeve reads, 'Dân Tộc,Tay Nguyen, Kon Tum.' Original title from SEACRC: Tay Nguyen montagnard doll
