Auto racer Mlle Maurice Mozette is pictured behind the wheel of her race car at the Legion Ascot Speedway in Lincoln Heights. Born Maurice Willard in Minnesota, she was a trained opera singer who assumed the name “Mlle Maurice Mozette” for her brief career as an auto racer. She was married to Frederic Lothrop Ames, III, a wealthy Boston heir, and composer Ernest Charles.
