Photograph caption dated December 5, 1961 reads, '"Yes, indeed, I want to belong,'" says actor Edward Everett Horton, honorary governor of the San Fernando Valley and long-time Encino resident, as he renews his membership in the Encino Community Center. Mrs. Eugene Gelson, a member of the center's membership committee, assists Horton with his registration. The center, 4935 Balboa Boulevard, is a non-profit corporation for youth and recreation purposes. The group's membership drive will continue through December. Individual memberships cost $10 per person or $25 per organization."
