Bust-length portrait.
Born in 1834 to Livingston Jenks and Sallie Jenks (Buffington), in Pennsylvania. Educated as lawyer, practicing law in Illinois and Kansas. Served in Company G, 13th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. Married Mary E. Allson in 1865. Moved to Sacramento in 1888 where practiced law; also worked for corporation manufacturing grape baskets, as secretary of nursery firm of C.W. Reed & Co. and had is own nursery firm, W. M. Jenks & Son. Died Jan 22 1914.
