First photograph caption dated July 27, 1938 reads, "Now he's sued for divorce by Mrs. Constance Ray Blondell, center."; Second photograph caption dated August 25, 1938 reads, "Edward Blondell Jr., brother of film star Joan Blondell, today came to court and heard his wife, Constance Blondell, known in films as Constance Ray, give testimony that resulted in her divorcing him. Photo shows the couple at their wedding in 1936. Because he allowed the suit to go by default it was unusual for him to appear in court."
