Aerial view of Lakewood Lanai Apartments, located at 8840 Lindell Avenue in the city of Downey; view is looking southeast. The apartments, built by Award Homes Inc. (also called Volk-McLain Co.) and opened on August 1955, are situated on the northside of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway (exit ramp visible upper right to lower left). Lakewood Boulevard is along the extreme bottom right, Telegraph Road runs vertically across the left, and Arrington Avenue is horizontally in the middle. Photograph dated September 27, 1955.
