In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
Employees can be seen installing windshields on R44 helicopters on the final assembly line at the Robinson Helicopter Company plant, located at the Torrance Airport.
