California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. (Democrat) and U.S. Senator Howard Baker (Republican). They appeared on a panel at a session of the National Conference of State Legislatures held in San Francico. Baker is expected to formally announce plans to seek Republican presidential nomination later in year. Brown also is expected to seek the nomination for Democratic presidential nomination this year.
