Description
Audio recordings of conference on women and work held in May 1973 by the California Labor Federation ; largely planned by the Bay Area feminist labor organization Union Wage; recordings include presentations and group discussions on the role of women in the labor movement, working women and U.S. law, and efforts to organize workers who did not have union representation ; one outcome of the conference was a call for a national conference on women, which led to the founding of the AFL-CIO’s affiliate organization the Coalition of Labor Union Women in 1974.
