Description
Photograph of a court session at sea, showing a passenger charged with smoking alfalfa, during the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce's voyage to Hawaii, 1907. An old man wearing a coat over a suit is standing to the right of the center while a second well-dressed man is holding the pair of handcuffs attached to the old man's hand and ankle. To their left, two men are wearing caps that say "S.S. Ohio" on them while each is holding a piece of paper in their hands one is wearing a suit and standing next to the other man who is wearing a long robe with floral designs. Behind these men, a crowd of people is surrounding them in the back that seems to serve as spectators. All individuals are standing on deck. In the left, a sailing vessel is partially visible in between the crowd while a large electric lamp is attached to it.
