Shown is a model of one of the modern incinerators planned for Los Angeles. This model would be placed on display in the May Co. windows during the store's Silver Anniversary Celebration as one of the exhibits of L.A.'s future. Four additional incinerators were planned for West Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, the Harbor Area and the Southwest Area. $2,100,000 for the project was provided from a 1947 Bond Issue.
