Photograph of mothers and teachers at Glory Kindergarten making clothes for earthquake victims, Kobe, Japan, ca.1923. A long, low table stretches across the image from left to right, and nine women can be seen kneeling around it, busily sewing. All of the women are wearing traditional Japanese clothes and have their hair tied up on their heads. A wide rectangular window can be seen at left, while several framed pictures can be seen at right. The caption on the image reads: "Glory Kindergarten, Kobe, Japan. Mothers and teachers making clothers with cloth bought by the children's contributions. Wakuyama San is second from left".
