Caption from September 16, 1982 Sacramento Bee reads, "Painting Serbian History: The St. Vasilije Serbian Orthodox Church in Angels Camp, the second oldest Serbian house of worship in California, is receiving new paint, new siding and new stained glass windows in preparation for services Saturday for the Serbian Benevolent Society. First erected by Serbian miners in 1910, the structure today is maintained by four Angels Camp families with the help of occasional donations." "St. Vasilije Serbian Orthodox Church at Angels Camp gets face lift prior tp Sept. 18 (Sat) services."
