Description
Bust-length portrait. 2013-2687. Lulu Hunt was born in Milford, Maine in 1873 to J. Albert and Alice Marsh Hunt. She attended the University of California, Berkeley in 1909, graduating with an M.D. and the University of Southern California in 1911, graduating with an A.B. A physician and public health educator, she began practice in 1915 in Los Angeles. She wrote syndicated health articles for a variety of magazines and several books (one Diet and Health, with key to the calories which hit the bestseller list). During and after World War I, she worked with the Red Cross in the Balkans, for which she was awarded St. Sara of Serbia and Order of Skanderbeg of Albania medals. She died in London in 1930.
