This is a photograph of Fr. James E. McDermott with some of the blind girls at Yangjiang. They are posing on the steps of a doorway. Rev. McDermott was born in Worcester, MA. He entered Maryknoll in 1920 and was ordained in 1927. He was assigned to Kongmoon, South China that year, where he remained until 1937, whereupon he returned to the U.S.
