Description
The Valencia Gardens Oral History Project includes audio cassette oral histories offering rich research material on the changing cultural landscape of a public housing project in an urban setting. The oral histories offer seventy-seven first-hand accounts of immigration and migration to San Francisco and illuminate the development of an urban community’s settlement patterns by race and ethnicity during the late 20th century. The stories shared by the Valencia Gardens residents represent their courage and perseverance as they seek to better themselves and their families.
