Description
Photograph of a bon voyage ceremony for the steamship City of Los Angeles at San Pedro Harbor, 1920-1940. At center, a large crowd is gathered on the edge of a wharf and most of the people are facing the ship at right. The ship has three decks above the level of the wharf, and all are crowded with passengers. Streamers are being thrown across the gap between the ship and the dock. A row of lifeboats is visible near the top of the ship, and two smokestacks are visible as well. At left is a tall concrete wall, possibly the side of a building.
