All of the unions, AFL-CIO, IBEW, and EAA, representing the various DWP employees, successfully negotiated package increase agreements for their members. In addition, once the strike ended, employees restored power to over 12,000 residents in Sherman Oaks and Woodland Hills who had been experiencing an outage for the duration of the strike. Employees of the Department of Water & Power (DWP), as members of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 18, picket outside the department's headquarters in July 1974. The Security Pacific Bank Building (later the Bank of America Plaza) is prominently present in the image.
