Title supplied by cataloger. Founded in 1887, Pilgrim Congregational Church held its first services in the Taylor Opera House. Ten years later, a church was built on Third and Thomas in downtown Pomona. In the early 1900s membership increased and by 1910 a new church building was needed. To meet that need, the present site at Garey Avenue and Pasadena Street was purchased and in May of 1911 the cornerstone was laid. The cost of construction was $107,573 and by the time the church was dedicated in 1912, only $19,000 of the debt remained. Exterior view of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, located at 600 N. Garey Avenue in Pomona.
