Photograph caption dated May 22, 1984 reads, "It looked like a duck, it walked like a duck, it talked like a duck, but it was actually much too big to be a duck. Anybody passing by on Hollywood Boulevard might have surmised that it was something out of Walt Disney, which it was: Donald Duck, leaving his webbed footprints in the forecourt of Mann's Chinese Theater to celebrate his 50th birthday. With Donald as scores cheered were his longtime girlfriend, Daisy Duck, and Clarence "Ducky" Nash, who has created his voice for 50 years. The Disney creation made his public bow June 9, 1934, in the cartoon, 'The Wise Little Hen.' During World War II, the world's most famous nursery decoration won an Oscar for his patriotic spoof, 'Der Fuehrer's Face.'"
