Description
Original charter creating the California Beta Pi Chapter on March 30, 1968, with 16 founding members. Ruth Chapin was the first Chaplain. The San Jose Mercury News for March 29, 1968, reported: Alpha Delta Kappa will conduct initiation ceremonies for Beta Pi a new chapter, Saturday at 2 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Lester Smith, 578 Westridge Drive. The original mailing label is included, addressed to Roberta E. Whitney of 216 Gramercy Place, Apt. 2, San Jose, from Alpha Delta Kappa headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.
