Description
Photograph of a group of women workers for Ircal Industries adjusting knobs on panels, ca.1940. At center, two working tables can seen with various equipment shown on its surface. At each table, two women workers can be seen seated facing away from the camera. The women face small rectangular panels on the table. Beneath the table at center, a large battery can be seen connecting directly to a small box beside the panel. Each panel is composed of several rotary knobs and small numbers. Two of the women can be seen adjusting some of the knobs, while the other women can be seen holding a small wire in their hands. Large desk lamps can be seen hanging over the tables sitting adjacent to small, rectangular boxes. In the background, a shelf consisting of three levels can be seen lining the walls of the room. Several small boxes are visible atop each shelf. In the extreme foreground, a rotary panel can be seen attached to a small timer near two open boxes of equipment.
