Description
Photo shows three beautiful white steeds as they answered fire calls with smoking engine in days gone by. The days of the fire horses are numbered, veterinarians say, predicting that in three years the last of Los Angeles' remaining 22 horses will have gone. With them passes much of the romance of the "department." Photo dated: November 15, 1927.
