Photograph caption dated July 11, 1957 reads, "Part of $2,314,000 Air Force contract for additional F-104 Starfighter production facilities, steel framework is virtually complete on extension to final assembly building at Lockheed's site at Air Force Plant 42, Palmdale. Other additions soon to get under way include new warehouse building, cafeteria extension, and considerable paving for aprons, taxiways, and roadways. Also under construction at Lockheed's Palmdale facility is 9,600-square foot paint hangar."
