Udsendt af DMS til sundhedsarbejde i DEM/Dansk Ethiopier Missions arbejdsområde, Bale, Etiopien fra 1976-77. Kaldt hjem pga. krig og uro. Genudsendt af DMS/FKN til sundheds- og nødhjælpsarbejde i Baleprovinsen, 1979-83. I 1982 blev Helene gift med Knud Erik Erbs, udsendt af DEM til byggeopgaver. Og fra 1983 var de som familie ansat af DEM med bopæl i Yavello Sidamo, samt Dodola og Hebano i Bale - frem til hjemkomst til Danmark i 1990. (Anvendt i: Dansk Missionsblad nr 8/1975)

Helene Christine Olesen, b. 1945. Trained nurse and midwife. Sent by DMS to health work in DEM/Danish Evangelical Mission's area in the Bale province, Ethiopia, 1976-77. Called home due to war and political unrest. Re-sent by DMS/DCA to health- and relief work in the Bale province, 1979-83. In 1982 Helene married Knud Erik Erbs, sent by DEM to building projects. Then from 1983, the family was employed by DEM, with residence in Yavello Sidamo, Dodola and Hebano in Bale – until their return to Denmark in 1990. (Used in: Dansk Missionsblad no. 8/1975).
