Photograph caption dated September 22, 1977 reads, "Ten raccoons, picked up all over West Los Angeles, are awaiting to be airlifted by helicopter from the West Los Angeles Shelter cage to a more suitable habitat in the Angeles National Forest, as a unique wildlife conservation program. The raccoons are migrating from area brush to residences in search of food, which is getting short from the drought."
