6 images. Memorial day at West Los Angeles Veterans Administration center, 30 May 1958. Joe E. Brown (speaker) crowd shot decorating graves. Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Gaze. Date: 1958-05-30. Reporter: Gaze. Assignment: West L.A. Memorial day. 5/6/7: World War I veteran Edward I. Steinberger, decorating graves meets with Boy Scout Stuart Behar of Hollywood Troop 322 in the Veterans' Administration Center cemetery at West Los Angeles where more than 39,000 veterans of all wars are buried. 61/62/70: At gravesite of Edward Spezze, 19 year old United States Marine Corporal, killed in action 'somewhere in Korea', at Veterans' Administration Center cemetery, West Los Angeles, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emilio Spezze, and a niece, Lorrie Ann Tafoya, 3, and a nephew, Joe Sheridan 6. Roses, carnations, daisies, peonies, mums and fern were used by the family to decorate the grave. 77/78: Same, except others in family are included. 17/18: Joe E. Brown speaking at Memorial Day exercises at West Los Angeles Veterans' Administration Center Cemetery. 55/56/57/58: Same as above. Child who plays in aisle oblivious to program is David Thole, one-year-old, of Reseda, whose mother is in the audience".
