Photograph article dated June 22, 1962 partially reads, "Sale of $6,500,000 in new homes and apartments was announced by officials of the Del E. Webb Corporation following a two-day public opening of their new Sun City 'active retirement' community for senior citizens...Sun City is set between the rolling hills and scenic farming vistas of the broad Menifee Valley, 22 miles south of Riverside on U.S. Highway 395."
