Text written under photo: "Powell Street looking South toward Market from Post St. 1912." View of Powell Street showing cable car of United Railroads going south. The St. Francis Hotel is on the right. A group of people are gathered by an automobile in front of the hotel's entrance. Union Square is just out of the picture to the left. Construction materials at the right indicate that the addition to the third wing of the St. Francis is being constructed.
