First photograph caption dated May 8, 1957 reads "Mr. and Mrs. William A. Hughes, of Tujunga, recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and were feted by four generations. He is a former newspaper photographer. They have lived in Tujunga since 1927." Second photograph caption dated January 17, 1963 reads "Singer dies." Mrs. Hughes was a former opera singer.
