A barker tries to entice customers into a sideshow on the midway at The Pike amusement park south of Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach. The canvas above the entrance displays cartoonish images of "World Champion Sword Swallower" and "Mystery Girl". Several performers stand in costumes on the stage beside the barker. One woman is holding snakes; another a cane.; Started in 1902, The Pike amusement park ran until 1979.
