Description
Photograph of the rear view of the cloister (left) and Vallejo Church (right) of Mission San Francisco Solano de Sonoma, ca.1888. The cloiser, which is the oldest part of the Mission, has a tile roof. A man stands with an ox (or steer) between the two buildings at center. A square bell tower is perched at the apex of the roof of the church. The church was built by General Vallejo and was not physically joined to the Mission. A two-story brick building is visible across the street in the background.
