Graffiti on a wall reads in the background of the image reads, "Long live the unity of the people's forces." There is also a hammer and a sickle painted next to the graffiti. The word "Duarte" is written on an utility pole, which refers to José Napoleón Duarte, who became president of El Salvadaor the year after and served from 1984 to 1989.
