Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated September 19, 1960 partially reads, "The community feels the boulevard, like an errant husband, has stepped a little outside of its bounds since the glamorous Ventura Freeway made its debut in the south Valley earlier this year. The freeway opening attracted additional hundreds of huge trucks to the busy north-south street which is the community's main thoroughfare...Some businessmen are waiting patiently for the completion of the planned San Diego Freeway, which will parallel Sepulveda through town and outdate Sepulveda boulevard as the fastest way to the Ventura Freeway." Seen, in the background at left, is the sign for the Gilded Rafters Restaurant located at 8701 Sepulveda Boulevard.; See images #00127020 and #00127022 through #00127026 for all photos in this series.
