This is side A of the first tape of recordings of a course taught by Drucker in 1978. This was recorded on January 31. He discusses that the course will be studying a lot of cases. Drucker tells a few antidotes, including one about trying to break the code in a cipher taken off a Russian officer killed in 1812. He describes management as the only organ of the body of an institution. He also uses a science metaphor to explain that people have different properties, and those individual properties change in different situations.
