Description
With the 1917-built, Carnegie Foundation-funded Main Library in the background, librarians and politicians dig in to christen the groundbreaking of the library’s 1988 expansion. Developed by the Library Plaza Group, the block-sized project included the 5-story-high library, a roughly 800-unit parking structure, and an 11-story building that was later expanded to 26 floors.
