Description
Attorney Barry Tarlow (left) tells media that his 19-year-old client, William Garretson, who was held as a suspect in the slayings of actress Sharon Tate and four others, had been released by the Los Angeles police on August 11 due to lack of evidence. Garretson, who was the caretaker at the Tate estate and who claimed to be asleep in garage apartment during slayings, was arrested shortly after the bodies were discovered on the property. Photograph date stamped August 12, 1969.
