Photograph of aviator Philip Orin Parmelee flying a Wright biplane at the Dominguez Hills Air Meet, 1912. The wood and canvas plane is airborne at center and is silhouetted against a cloudy sky. It has twin wings and vertical tails, and is a pusher design. A crowd of people is gathered on the ground at left, and several are in early model automobiles while at least one is on horseback.
