Mission Indian Women at rededication of Mission San Luis Rey, May 1893. These women were children when the Mission was built and were employed a few hours each day in carrying adobe bricks. The three elderly women are sitting on the ground. They are wearing dresses, sweaters, blankets, and head wrappings. The ground is overgrown with plants. In the background, three arch ways of an adobe structure are visible.
