Perry founded the United Fellowship Metropolitan Community Church (UFMCC) in 1968." From Ted Sahl, "From closet to community: a quest for gay & lesbian liberation in San Jose & Santa Clara County," (2002), p.103. Sky Anderson was pastor of UFMCC in San Jose from 1979 to 1982. He was also active with the "No on 6" campaigners. Proposition 6 was an anti-gay school initiative introduced by Senator John Briggs.
