This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
"28" printed on photo. Text written under photo: "Lincoln Grammer [sic] School. Metropolitan Temple. Fifth Street 1888." View is of the east side of Fifth Street between Market and Mission. The three-story Lincoln School and the elaborate Metropolitan Temple dominate the street. At the corner of Fifth and Jessie a horse-drawn coach is parked by the curb. A policeman is standing at the corner, and someone is lounging against the wall of the saloon nearby. Two crates are on the sidewalk in front of the Metroplitan Temple.
