Photograph caption dated November 28, 1959 reads, "Sonny Pratt of North Hollywood is among the better sprint car drivers who will compete tomorrow in the eight-even auto racing program at Ascot Stadium where the first big car day race is to be held." Photograph was used for an article date stamped June 26, 1961. It reads, "Driver killed - Leon 'Sonny' Pratt, 34-year-old Reseda racing driver, was the second Valley driver in a week to be killed in the Ascot Stadium main event in Gardena. Pratt, 18302 Keswick St., died when his car flipped over in the third lap of the race Saturday night. Steve Searock, 23, 2304 Brighton St., Burbank was killed when his car flipped over eight times June 17."
